Homebound communion
The purpose of this ministry at Salem UMC is to extend the Lord’s Table, serving the sacrament of Holy Communion to all members* of our worship community who are unable to attend church worship services, due to physical and/or health constraints.
Trained laity takes the prepared and consecrated elements to serve our homebound members.
If you would like a family member or friend who is a member of the congregation to receive (or be contacted about receiving) Homebound Holy Communion, please contact the Church Office at 319-362-6178 or [email protected] or by filling out the form below.
*Those persons who have joined the church or are regularly attending in person or via media but are unable to attend personally on a short-term or long-term basis. They may be residing in their own home, living with a family member(s) or friend(s), or are in a care facility.
