How Will You Measure Your Life? Campaign

celebrate with gratitude

How Will You Measure Your LIfe? campaign

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s continue to express our gratitude. With this gratitude, let’s serve in a way that is pleasing to God with respect and awe.

(Hebrews 12:28)

We celebrate with gratitude the ways God has blessed and used our church. As we express gratitude by loving, giving and serving God and others, our lives can be filled with overflowing joy.

Gratitude begins with our simple acknowledgement that all we have and all we are, come as gifts from God. As our creator and sustainer, God showers us with blessings. We experience the power of gratitude when we humbly go to God with thanksgiving and return a portion of those blessings to God.

As members of a church family, we are expected to worship, grow, serve, give, and witness. We give in proportion to our incomes, with the biblical teaching of the tithe or ten percent as our goal.

We have a proposed operating budget that will be finalized in the coming months of approximately $330,000 for 2023. We also carry a mortgage balance of roughly $585,000 with a $5,372 monthly obligation.

Our church budget is more than heating the building and keeping the lights on. It cares for our staff that serves you passionately. It allows us to offer educational opportunities for those who grow in discipleship.

Our building remains open to serve the community for various events and functions. It supports missions near and far. Your generosity makes these things possible.

As you prepare your annual commitment for 2023, consider how you will serve the Lord and invest in God’s work through your church.

  1. Begin with prayer, thanking God for your blessings and seeking guidance and discernment.
  2. Assess your finances and develop a budget/spending plan that aligns with your priorities.
  3. Complete your 2023 commitment card. Determine the percentage of income you are currently giving. Set the percentage you want to give, working toward the goal of tithing.
  4. Bring your commitment card to worship, mail to the church office, or drop off at the church by November 20.

Because we receive so richly from God through the ministries of Salem, I invite you to prayerfully consider your own generosity that will be a blessing to so many in 2023.

Be Bold, Be Strong,

Rev. Matt German
