The latest with Salem and COVID-19

Salem's leadership board wants to hear from you

Salem's Leadership Board encourages you to ask questions and suggest ideas. The LB is establishing a task force made up of members from the Board, staff, and the congregation to discuss re-entry plans and opportunities for potential in-person gatherings. Representing the Leadership Board is Jeremy Hague and Brian Schooley. This task force desires to engage our Salem family in this process, and they want hear from you. So, if you have ideas, comments, or questions, please send them to this new email address: [email protected]. Thank you!

Bishop Laurie Haller's reentry plan

Our bishop, Laurie Haller, shares in a letter the reentry plan and resources available as our state begins to loosen restrictions. Salem's Leadership Board has decided that our offices will remain closed and worship will remain online for the time being.

Salem isn’t closed. We are open but in a different way for a while longer.

Our priority now is working diligently to bring many small groups together as quickly as possible. While we don’t have to gather in-person in a larger group for worship, we do need one another and need to be together digitally or in-person for our life and growth in Jesus. The recent survey indicated many different possibilities for gathering in small groups. Our Director of Discipleship, Tim King, is overseeing the facilitation of those groups now. If you'd like to plug into a small group safely, please indicate your areas of interest with the form below, and Tim King will be in touch with you soon.

Sunday worship can be found live at 9:20 AM at Or if you prefer, the video will be posted afterwards on (just click on “sermons”). Either way, the video remains available for those who want to watch after the live event.

Our Treasurer, Linda Curson, has prepared some information about three ways you can easily give offerings online. You can find that and instructions at

If you need any help or support, you are welcome to contact the church (319-362-6178, [email protected]) or contact Pastor John directly ([email protected]). Please continue to engage with us at and on our Facebook page.
